Results of the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2020 Launch of the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Applied Artificial Intelligence The Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Applied Artificial Intelligence is an elite degree programme first offered by HKU with only 15-20 first-year places each year. It emphasises the intellectual underpinning of AI applications in diverse areas and consists of five focus areas, including AI technology, AI in business and finance, AI in medicine, AI in smart cities, and AI in neurocognitive science. Students will be well-equipped with both fundamental and practical knowledge in the design and construction of intelligent systems, so that they can apply their skills in a variety of career settings. The University of Hong Kong (HKU) was ranked 26th among the top 1,500 global universities in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2024.
