Competition Theme –
2026: The topic of the Competition is “Insurance Innovation.” Student participants will submit a proposal related to innovations in the insurance business (e.g., new products, AI use, distribution channels, and so on).

Global Competition Dates and Prizes (Singapore)

| Rule 1 | Each team can either have 3 or 4 members; all members must be enrolled as undergraduate or postgraduate students in a university in Hong Kong as of March 2026 in a full-time program. For postgraduate students, only those with less than 3 years of full-time work experience are eligible. |
| Rule 2 | Each member can only belong to one team. |
| Rule 3 | The team leader is responsible for being the contact point between the competition host and the team members. |
| Rule 4 | Each team should submit ONE registration form by 23:59 HKT on April 17, 2026 (Friday). |
| Rule 5 | After registration, the team composition should not be changed, unless approved by the competition host. |
Preliminary Round Submission Requirement

| Page Limit | : | Maximum 2 pages of PowerPoint slides, summarising the analysis, strategy, and recommendations. An optional appendix not longer than 5 pages of PowerPoint slides is allowed. |
| Clarity | : | The slide deck should present the main ideas of the proposal clearly. |
| Original Work | : | The content must be the original work of the team members that has not been submitted elsewhere previously (including but not limited to any competition, assignment or project). Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used but they must be employed in an ethical and responsible manner. Misrepresenting AI-generated work as original is prohibited. Teams must clearly disclose any use of AI in their reports or research. |
| Source Citations | : | Sources should be properly cited sources using a generally accepted citation system. |
Evaluation Criteria for Preliminary Round Submission (60 points max)
| Analysis (20 points) | : | Setting up a problem statement, analysing the issue, and understanding the depth of the proposal, including the identification of key issues, opportunities, and challenges within the insurance industry. |
| Creativity and Innovation (20 points) | : | The originality and creativity of the proposed solutions. |
| Feasibility and Implementation (10 points) | : | The practicality and potential impact of the solutions, including considerations of how they could be implemented in a real-world context. |
| Presentation and Communication (10 points) | : | The clarity, structure, and effectiveness of the slide deck and appendix. |

Evaluation Criteria for Local Final Round Presentation (70 points max)
| Analysis (10 points) | : | Setting up a problem statement, analysing the issue, and understanding the depth of the proposal, including the identification of key issues, opportunities, and challenges within the insurance industry. |
| Creativity and Innovation (20 points) | : | The originality and creativity of the proposed solutions. |
| Feasibility and Implementation (20 points) | : | The practicality and potential impact of the solutions, including considerations of how they could be implemented in a real-world context. |
| Presentation and Communication (20 points) | : | The clarity, structure, and effectiveness of the slide deck and appendix. |
The winner of the local final round will advance to the global final round, which takes place at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore on August 20-21, 2026 (Thursday and Friday). The local host will support the cost of the flight and accommodation for the local winning team.
