 1) Career/Recruitment Talk

To enlarge students' network and employability, the Department has from time to time provided students with opportunities to take part in different career-related events of various natures under the Career Advising Programme. Career/Recruitment Talk is one of the very means of preparing students to transition successfully towards their future career.

  • IFoA Talk

  • Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) invited some of their fellows/members to deliver presentation sessions in respect of IFoA - Actuarial Career. They have shared the thoughts and insights about IFoA qualifications and the career prospects that the IFoA qualification could offer.

Therefore, “Prelude to Actuarial Internship Programme” is held every semester specifically for Actuarial Science students as a basic industry information training to keep themselves updated about the recent market trend of actuarial role, in addition, the “Workplace Etiquette Workshop” could help students to understand what is the proper behavior in the workplace so as to be well equipped to be a strong candidate.

 2) Company visits (2017-19)

We are grateful to the companies below for organising the company visits for our students. This is a great opportunity in engaging students through the connection with professionals, not only enabling them to know more about their area of interest but also enhancing their interpersonal skills. With regular industrial visits, students are able to identify their prospective area of work like consulting, finance, insurance, marketing, etc.

Our Alumni’s support and dedication to students is much appreciated. We are very pleased to keep strengthening the ties with alumni, and staying connected with the industry.
