SAAS Career Fair 2019

The SAAS Career Fair was successfully held on Thursday, March 7, 2019. The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science organised this career fair specifically for BSc(ActuarSc), BSc (Majors in Decision Analytics, Risk Management, and Statistics), Master of Statistics and Master of Data Science students, with an aim to connect the industry and students in an interactive environment outside offices and classrooms. We had 35 companies/organizations with over a hundred representatives altogether participating in the career fair.

In addition, we were extremely honoured to have invited Census and Statistics Department of the HKSAR to give a recruitment talk, allowing students to have a better understanding of the opportunities they could grasp to facilitate an early job preparation. A networking session with some of our alumni was held at the same time right after the Fair, which was indeed another attraction to students.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the participating companies and persons, as well as voluntary student helpers, for their time and effort, and dedication to our students. With the enthusiastic response from the participants, we are certain that our students have gained much from the informative and inspiring interactions with the passionate representatives.
