Seminar by Dr. Noah SILVERMAN from the Director of Helios.ai, Light.CX, Excellent Liquidity Inc. and the CEO of Innovest Energy Fund

The “Blockchain” is the foundational technology underneath every cryptocurrency innovation we hear about. There are actually two main, but very different kinds of Blockchains; “UTXO based” and “account based”. Few people, outside of core cryptocurrency developers, understand how they work.

This will be the second in our series of guest seminars about cryptocurrency and blockchain. Dr. Noah Silverman will lead the group through a discussion into the mechanics, data, cryptography, and security of the two main kinds of Blockchains. If timing allows, we may also briefly touch on how to setup your own Blockchain node for either mining or analysis.

Once you understand the structure and mechanics of a Blockchain, they can be extremely rich sources of large data, suitable for a wide variety of statistical analysis. Most of the data and analysis found online is rather primitive, and this is a wide-open area for further research.

Noah Silverman holds a PhD in statistics from UCLA, and has worked with data and technology for over 20 years. The focus of Dr. Silverman’s research was on developing probabilistic models for complex and stochastic system. His research involved artificial intelligence, machine learning, hierarchical Bayesian models, Gaussian processes, classifiers, support vector machines, and textual analysis.

Currently Dr. Silverman works on a multitude of business involving the intersection of technology, mathematics, risk, finance, and cryptocurrency. He has developed successful solutions in Finance, Digital Advertising, Sports Betting, Crypto-currency, Education, Medical, and other industries.

Dr. Silverman is currently the Director of Helios.ai a consulting firm in Hong Kong, Director of Light.CX derivatives exchange, Director of Excellent Liquidity Inc., and the CEO of Innovest Energy Fund.
