
About the speaker
Philippe Trainar is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration. He has twenty years’ experience in the insurance industry, having previously held various positions of responsibility at the French Ministry of Finance and as Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister Edouard Balladur. Since 2006, he has been Chief Economist, CRO and member of the Executive Committee of the SCOR Group, and CEO of the SCOR Foundation for Science. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the French supervisory body ACPR. Between 2017 and 2023 he was Professor of Insurance at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers and also taught at Bayes Business School, City University, London. He has published in various scientific journals (Economie et Statistique, Economie et Prévision, Journal of Risk and Insurance, The Geneva Papers, Commentaire, etc.). He was the editor of the scientific journal la Revue Française d’Economie from 1995 to 2017. He was awarded the Casualty Actuarial Society prize, with David Cummins, in 2010, and the Zerilli Marimo prize of the French Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in 2018.
