Minor Requirements

Minor Title Minor in Risk Management
Offered to students admitted to Year 1 in 2025
Objectives:

The Minor in Risk Management aims to provide interested students with basic concepts of risk management and fundamental skills of employing various statistical techniques for managing risk. The minor curriculum is particularly designed for students from different majors to enhance their interests in Risk Management or to complement their major of study.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this programme, students should be able to:
PLO 1 :

acquire basic understanding and identify the generic risk management issues and techniques (by means of coursework, tutorial classes and project-based learning in the curriculum)

PLO 2 :

apply elementary methods and models for risk assessment and management (by means of coursework, tutorial classes and project-based learning in the curriculum)

PLO 3 :

acquire and interpret relevant data and information for risk management (by means of coursework, tutorial classes and project-based learning in the curriculum)

If the same courses are listed as disciplinary core in both this minor and the primary major (or programme/professional core) undertaken by a student, the student must make up the number of credits by taking replacement course(s) stipulated by the minor. Double counting of credits is not permissible.
